Hoarseness may be the norm, but it's not normal

Teachers are professional voice users, just as much as singers and actors are, but unlike most in those professions, teachers generally don’t receive any form of voice or performance training. Because of this teachers are at higher risk for voice disorders than the rest of the working population. We often we see teachers in our therapy rooms after they’ve damaged their voice at work.

This course will provide you with a working knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of voice production, educate you about vocal hygiene and voice care, instruct you in vocal warm-ups and exercises for daily use, show you with the signs and symptoms of a voice disorder, and give you the resources to follow-up with medical professionals if you need to.

The information in this course with help you keep your voice healthy and strong. Equally as important, it will inform you as to what to do and how to get help if you currently have a problem or develop one.
